Off The Hook

How A Drone, A Scorned Girlfriend, And Some Legwork Saved A $25,000 Bond;

Chad and Rob Episode 1024

Send us a text

A fan from Bangladesh, a lawn seat that costs a fortune, and a $25,000 bond saved without a scuffle—this one moves from global shoutouts to ground-level action fast. We open with the audience love and then tear into the mess of modern ticketing: primary prices that start high, fees that stack higher, and a resale system that multiplies charges while artists and fans both lose. If you’ve ever paid triple digits to squint from the grass, you’ll feel this one in your wallet.

From there, we pivot into what we do best: real bail work with real stakes. In Robeson County, we map a target’s circle through surnames and social media, launch a drone from a quiet church lot to scan for dogs and plates, and make a hard call on whether to knock. The break arrives through a scorned girlfriend who points us straight to the door. We split positions, keep it calm, and the suspect walks out without a fight. No drama, no rubber rounds—just clean tactics, clear communication, and a bond company spared a $25K hit while taxpayers pay nothing.

We also dig into Irena’s Law and what it could mean across North Carolina: more secured bonds for violent charges, fewer blanket unsecures, and a likely shift in workload as cases move through the system. Magistrates are waiting on guidance, but we’re preparing for the ripple effects—more bonds written, more forfeitures, and more accountability. On the lighter side, we unveil a new “trigger fish” shirt from our coastal-themed shop, swap a few laughs about local culture, and float a big idea: bringing Dog the Bounty Hunter and Leland Chapman to Wilmington for a live show, a recorded podcast, and a VIP Q&A.

SPEAKER_01:

What's up, everybody? Rob here. Chad, what's up? Uh, what's happening? Dude, did you see? Dude, uh, you sent me this email. We get first before we even get started, you sent me a uh screenshot of an email last night.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

From a fan.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, so um, yeah, that was kind of cool. Um, we want to say a big hello. I let Chad Yeah, so um, this guy reached out to me um last night, said I've been watching off the hook uh Belbines podcast for about six months now. I just wanted to say how much uh I enjoy, and uh you guys make every um episode interesting and uh also I'm learning a lot. Um, but this this is our friend um Al Amin Dewan. I hope I said that right, buddy. Yeah, we're um yeah we're he is from Bangladesh.

SPEAKER_01:

Bangladesh. How about that man?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Another country. So I check our um I check our statistics and we're we're all we're being listened to. And um we have a few other countries um that that listen to our episodes, and it's pretty cool. We have a we actually have 30, we're up to 33 percent, 34 that are from London or England area. Yes. And that's kind of kind of crazy, but uh yeah. So anyway, um Yeah, we want to say thank you for listening.

SPEAKER_01:

That's awesome. Anybody else that's in the world, you know, it you can be in the US too, don't get me wrong. Right. Uh if you like what you hear and reach out to us, email us, let us know what you think, you know, comment, like, subscribe, you know, all the good stuff.

SPEAKER_03:

You know, chat send us a question. I like I like getting stuff like that, man. It's kind of cool. Yeah, yeah. Something that you're inter you know, you want to know about that we do that we maybe haven't talked about, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, I think it's kind of it's interesting to see how like people in other countries because they live there totally different than we do.

SPEAKER_03:

Right, yeah. Yeah, and we I know we might sound seem strange to you what we do.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Um, but it's nor it's normal to us to hear, well, it's somewhat normal here. Yeah, right. Uh but yeah, we might sound like some rednecks, uh, because you know somewhat are.

SPEAKER_03:

Kind of are everybody's got their areas of um I drive a truck and I hunt. I drive a truck and I have a Tesla. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm kind of I play a guitar, I play a guitar and have a country band. So there you go. Uh all right, so thank you, sir. All right, on to the next subject here, Mr. Taylor. Uh let's uh let's let's let's let's talk about I've got something and you've got something here, right? All right. So everybody knows, you know, we you know I I like going to concerts and and sporting events and stuff like that, right? So do you? You went to the Metallica one that that was that was amazing.

SPEAKER_03:

Pantera.

SPEAKER_01:

And Pantera.

SPEAKER_03:

Sure.

SPEAKER_01:

All right, um and then I saw something, it got brought up again in the news, and I'm I'm ready to see what happens or becomes of this because it's been an ongoing thing for a while. But remember when Trump first got in, he met with Kid Rock and he he signed an executive order to try to lower ticket ticket prices, right? Okay, it's ticket gouging. Right. So they took a look into it, and evidently they found a bunch of fraud and they're being sued now. Uh now that's as far as I know where it's gotten. And now the CEO of Ticketmaster has come out and told everybody that ticket prices are too too low, they need to go up. Assholes. Do you know how much a ticket is now? Just go see like somebody here at LIVO at the amphitheater. You're gonna spend a hundred to a hundred and fifty dollars just for the grass, and you can barely see anything. Why and and the the artists, you know, they're getting they're getting shafted. They're already making enough money as it is, but they're getting shafted, and ticketmaster is getting is banking because they're they're making, you know how all the fees you get when you buy a ticket? Right. All right, so when they first go on sale, they get bought up quick, and then people buy them to scalp them to resell them. Well, when they resell them, Ticketmaster is charging them fees again on top of that. So, how many times a ticket gets sold three or four times and they're making that fees, them fees three or four times? They're ripping us off, and Ticketmaster's making the money on it. So I think it's ridiculous. I I'm I'm waiting, I'm kind of waiting to see what happens. I would love to see the outcome on this because Kid Rock's come out and said some stuff um here lately about it going, hey, we got you, you know, we're they're looking into it. So I'm I'm ready to see what happens of it. Because I mean it's ridiculous, man. We like to have you know, you like to get away, you know, and separate from work and life and you go to a sporting event or concert, whatever. And you don't want to get raped while you're doing it though.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, everybody needs a break from reality, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, it's awesome. But we'll see. We'll kind of keep you updated on that. Now, let's move on to peace in the Middle East.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, so uh oh god, I got my new shirts and uh Oh shit, that was my post. I wore it yesterday and I didn't know when we were gonna do our podcast. We're kind of doing it on the off day today. Um I try to coordinate my war.

SPEAKER_01:

If you give me if y'all give me a minute, I will run out to my trunk and grab it. Oh, okay. All right, hang on. Y'all have to see this. Hang on.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, you I guess you can't.

SPEAKER_01:

Anyway, so keep him busy there, Chad.

SPEAKER_03:

Talk about it. So thanks, Rob. Um, so we were talking about in the last one that uh Trump was um you know, had a plan for for peace in the Middle East, and he he got it done. Um now will it will they stick with it? We don't know. Nobody knows, right? They've been fighting for a long time. Um but he did get the hostages released. I mean, that's in itself huge. So it's funny because I got my uh my new my latest shirt that uh for the off the hook um off the hook gear dot shop.

SPEAKER_01:

Are you already I've been waiting for this for a while?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, yeah. So I came up with this because you know, I have like a fishing um thing that I do with my shirts because we live on the coast. But and this particular first we'll show it front. This particular thing struck me is I'm always looking for different um species of fish to make my pictures and things to put on my shirts. Well, I thought of a trigger fish, and trigger fish are very pretty uh fish, and they're very good to eat. And uh I was like, I kept looking at trigger fish and I was saying trigger fish, trigger fish. Liberals get triggered easily.

SPEAKER_02:

Bam. What triggers you more than Donald Trump? So meat, so meat, the trigger fish. Look, it's a trigger fish with the hairdo. Familiar hairdo on the trigger fish.

SPEAKER_01:

Guys, smart, right? Come on. If y'all don't have this, which I know you don't, you gotta get it. I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, these are selling pretty good. I I'm I'm I'm very pleased with these.

SPEAKER_01:

Um that one's worth going to the truck for.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, I wish we would have worn mine. But anyway, yeah, you can get one of those if you want. Just check us out.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Uh was it off the hook?

SPEAKER_03:

Off the hookgear.shop.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm telling you, go in there and like y'all buy it up and make sure he sells out of it. It it's awesome. I can't wait to see some of the the looks I get when I wear. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

It's gonna be fun. Yeah, it's funny. People do kind of a double because they figure it out. They're like, oh, yeah. So you're either gonna get oh, that's cool, or you're gonna get uh you're gonna get that.

SPEAKER_02:

You know, you're gonna get one or the other, you know. So I love it.

SPEAKER_03:

It's funny either way, man. The guy that printed these, you know, I love you guys to death. Uh, I know that you did not care to print these shirts. Um, when I picked them up, you know, you kind of gave me a little bit of grief, but I'm like, come on. It's for the funny factor, you gotta say it's pretty pretty clever. It's good. It's good. So you guys at Wahoo, y'all do a great job. Keep renting my stuff. We can keep it, keep it friendly. It's it's it's all fun and games, right? Yeah, I mean, I got I mean, I'm they're a great print company.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes. I'm actually about to get some shirt, a bunch of shirts for the band made again. They do an awesome, they did an awesome job.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, wahoo printing, Wilmington. Shout out to you guys. Yep. Sam and Sam.

SPEAKER_01:

All right, so back to the peace in the Middle East team.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, he's finally done it. And uh apparently, I don't know. I mean, what are what are they gonna protest? They'll figure out something. Oh, they'll figure out. I'm not worried.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

So it change that profile picture, okay?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

I kind of like scrape that one off your car, you know, your your Subaru or your uh pre Prius, whichever it is, you know, just stereotypes exist for a reason, folks. Okay, I'm just I'm just gonna throw that out there. They do.

SPEAKER_01:

So any I don't know what the hell, you know. I don't know what the hell they're gonna bitch about now, but there's a Subar out back out there.

SPEAKER_03:

What kind of stickers are on it? Well, there's a lot of a lot of that going on. Oh, yeah, there it goes. He, she, her, whatever. Nose ring was the first clue. Little door knocker. Hello, are you in there? Hello, hello, Chad.

SPEAKER_01:

You're on a road is one of my road. So, all right, so I think uh majority of America's tired of it. I did read something yesterday that the transgender movement is declining.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I saw I saw that. They uh it reached a peak. Um, yeah, Steven Crowder was uh I like I like his show. I'm listening to it. I do too. And uh he was talking about the statistics and how it's uh reached its peak and now it's started to fall. And he was giving out the numbers. I don't know what they are, but it's pretty significant um of what's happening. So that's kind of promising. A little bit of common sense coming back to people.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, I think it's been so crazy over the past four years.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, uh, it's it takes a while to undo all that. Oh, god, I know. I mean, seriously, folks, think back before Biden. You can you do that just before it? And we had more common sense, at least at least common sense, you know. Two genders, you know, stuff like that. Just just common sense. We don't have to, you know, you can still keep a little crazy if you want. I mean, I can't undo everything for you at once, I'm sure, but yeah, um, at least the common sense.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, I'm I'm glad it's coming back. Oh, speaking of common sense, this next guy, he did he had he had a little bit of common sense that we went and got. Oh, you're going to his story? I got a nickname for him.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, good. Good. I didn't think about that.

SPEAKER_01:

Tonto.

SPEAKER_03:

What?

SPEAKER_01:

Tonto.

SPEAKER_03:

Tonto.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, Tonto.

SPEAKER_03:

One, because he's Indian?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, that's wrong kind of Indian.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, is it?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Oh. Yeah. But if you want, we can just call him Pa.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, Pa.

SPEAKER_03:

Now, for our friends in Lumberton, uh, that area, Robeson County.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Y'all know the term Pa.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Right?

SPEAKER_01:

I'll tell you a quick story after a word from our sponsor. How about that? So before we get into uh our story, and we can keep going, uh, we have to give a big shout out to our first sponsor, which was really big for us. Yeah. All right, here we go. It is the North Carolina Bell Agents Association. Uh Julie there is the president now. She's doing an absolutely wonderful job.

SPEAKER_03:

Shout out to Julie. We want to all you guys on the board, um, guys and gals, um, we thank you uh for all that you do. It's a sacrifice. I was on the board years ago, and it is a sacrifice from your family, your time, and uh we appreciate it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I wish I wish I could, you know, I wish I could be a part of it. They've asked me a well uh Regina's asked me, like, hey, we like hard round. I ain't doing that.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, Mike Berger, if he gets a hold of you, man. Mike, if you're listening, yeah, he's relentless to get get somebody to get on there.

SPEAKER_01:

I know. I would love to, it's just so far away.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh that's that, yeah. I was you know, little kids at the time.

SPEAKER_01:

And hey, but you know what? For us, it's a the NCBA has been working their butts off, and especially with us Irina's law that is gone that's gone through.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep, they uh they've changed a few things that have benefited us over the years, and so you know keep them in mind for your um continued ed needs and new new new classes.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, absolutely. So, all right, so here we go. So, Pa. Pa, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Pa was a Lumby Indian um from the Robinson County, the part of North Carolina that is uh pretty much all.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. It was um it was a bankers, it's a bankers bond. So when I say bankers, it's uh the insurance company that uh they hired us to go out get the guy uh because the forfeiture, uh the due date was coming up. And so it comes in and we, you know, of course we do our due diligence like we do every case. Look him up, look his look family up, look, you know.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, we you know social media is huge. We always you know talk about that. We start on it, and I always have a theory that you you may or may not be on social media, but someone in your circle is. Right. And it and it's the key is to find that that part of the circle. Yep, you know, and that can give you some big clues. And that's where kind of where I I get started. In this particular area of North Carolina, all these folks that are in this, they all kind of have the same. Well, there's like four or five last names that are very prominent in Robeson County. Yeah. Glock Lears, Jacobs, um God will be. So it's very confusing, you know, to to sort through. So they just call you pa. Well, pa is a term that if you hear um one of them say that, it's not good.

SPEAKER_01:

Wait, it's a good thing or a bad thing. I've heard it in both ways.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, they'll yeah, I guess, but if they refer to you as an outsider, yeah, as pa, it's not a good thing.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, it's we found that out.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, so I went with uh uh Petey one time. We go get somebody out of it, it's been a long time ago, and the guy's brother was at the house and he was and he had an ankle monitor on, he was a big old boy, and he was it was in Robinson County, and he goes, he comes out, he goes, He ain't here, Pa. This is the first time I've heard this now. I looked at Petey, I said, Why is he calling me Pa? Why is he calling me Pa? I'm like, I ain't no pa. What are you talking about, dude? He goes, He ain't here, Pa. He pulls out this big old knife. I'm like, why is he calling me pa and whole pulling out a knife? I said, This ain't cool, man. I'm about to shoot this guy.

SPEAKER_03:

I told you it's not good when they call you pa. Yeah. And you're not not part of the group. Oh, it's horrible. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So so Pa here. Um, we get the the forfeiture. We're looking. Chad's going through social media. You know, Chad has had has his parts in it, in it, and I have my parts because he he he knows how to work social media. I look up people on on my system, and we put it together so we go out there.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. We get enough information to make a trip.

SPEAKER_01:

Yep.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep.

SPEAKER_01:

So we get out there and we look at we go by this house. It's a like a double wide trailer um out in the country. Uh, we we're looking and we see a couple cars, but we don't see no movement. So I we see a chart. There's a church about a quarter mile away, and it's all open farmland. You know, we can see the house. Pretty good. So, of course, I've got this new little toy called a drone. And this is the time when we got we all got drones and we're all trying to figure it out. I was like, well, I have no time like the present a present to uh try this thing out. So we we're in this church parking lot, we don't even get out of the truck.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, we just open the sunroof in the truck, set it up on the top, and let it roll. Got your screen down there. Yep. And the purpose is we fly down there, we have to assess what kind of danger that we might be walking into. Yeah, because we have no idea. I mean, these folks are not too inviting to outsiders to begin with. Oh, yeah. They don't they don't like the white man. And uh I think their preferred dog there is Pit Bull. So we fly the drone a couple houses down and um and and look and survey the area. We see two cars in the driveway. Um, we hover, we get, we zoom in, we can get one of us is writing the uh tags down. Yeah, and I'm I'm running them while and he's running them on the computer, and uh then we fly around and we you know look and see any signs of dog. Yep. You know, because if we go back there, we don't want to know if we're gonna get bit or not.

SPEAKER_01:

That are are we're looking also trying to look in the window, see if we see who's there, you know, we see anybody.

SPEAKER_03:

Hey, can't see nothing, everything's you want to fly high enough because they do put off a sound that you can hear pretty good. So you you're I mean you you want to fly high enough to where and you can still zoom with these things that you can see without making too much of a racket. Yeah. Um, you don't want to, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

I think I had a quiet blades on on this drone.

SPEAKER_03:

Whisper blades.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, but I think I rec I crashed it, and that was afterwards. Uh later on down the road, I crashed it and I had to decide to put out regular blades on it now.

SPEAKER_03:

Those things are fun, man. We got here at our office, we got the battleship across from us, across the river. Oh, yeah, we and uh we've flown our drones several times, all the way over, around it, you know, get great footage, you know, just practicing with them.

SPEAKER_01:

But don't, whatever you do, don't get your fingers caught up in the blade. I did that. Oh god, yeah. I did that not too long. I want to say last year I did it, uh, and man, it messed my thumb all up. That thing hurt bad.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, yeah, they'll they'll do it, but they got quite the range. Um they keep getting better with these things. Pretty awesome. Um, anyway, so back to the story.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, so we get all the information that we can from the drone, send the drone home, we get it back up, put it up, and we make the decision to all right, we got no no other leads to go off of, and we found out it's you ran it and it was what the parents? It was the parents of his girlfriend.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay, oh, the parents of the girlfriend. All right, so you got to determine at that point are these people worth um blowing your cover and talking to because you you you know, or are they gonna turn around and and say, hey, yeah, you got two two guys?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, we got nothing else to go off of neither.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, so we kind of run out of options. So this was kind of a last ditch effort.

SPEAKER_01:

Right.

SPEAKER_03:

And it worked, and it worked, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Because we went up there and they didn't they don't like the guy.

SPEAKER_03:

Bingo. As soon as they say, you know, we can't stand the guy, you know, you breathe you you breathe a sigh of relief because they're on your side at that point.

SPEAKER_01:

And so we sat there for a minute.

SPEAKER_03:

We will take we will take the problem out of your equation here, right?

SPEAKER_01:

We sat there for a minute and we they called their daughter because daughter was at home, she was at work, and she got burned by paw, so she was tired of them. So we're like, oh, this is great. Ain't nothing like a scorned woman, right? Whew, scorned women are they're rough, man.

SPEAKER_03:

So um that was funny, right?

SPEAKER_01:

Uh sorry, guys, for you guys listening. It was a nose ring walking a weenie dog. Yeah, another liberal coming by. So, all right, so she tells us he's in a house in Lumberton, gives us the exact address where this guy's at.

SPEAKER_03:

Boom.

SPEAKER_01:

Says he is there right now. Boom. And of course, we jump in the truck and we're we're gone. We're hauling butt, right? We get there, and I remember it's like on the edge of dark, and it's almost dark.

SPEAKER_03:

And we asked, you know, is he alone? Is he got anybody? Yep, any guns, any weapons, anything like that? No. No, we're so I mean, sounds good. Sounds like an optimal situation.

SPEAKER_01:

So on the way there, we're we're we're going over our plan of what we're gonna do. Chad's looking the house up, you know, we're seeing what's around the house, you know, where it's at, blah, blah, blah. We we get there, we jump out, I go to the front door, Chad goes to the back.

SPEAKER_03:

And by the time I always set stuff up by the door, you know. So if you come out, you know, you're gonna trip, you're gonna get hurt. I'm gonna have a tricycle.

SPEAKER_01:

Knocking on a door, knocking on a door, and next thing you know, I get a uh Chad comes over the radio. Hey, he's opening the back door, he's he's coming out. He comes out, gives up, no fight whatsoever. That's the best scenario.

SPEAKER_03:

Best scenario you can get. Yeah, it was great.

SPEAKER_01:

You don't want him coming out with a knife going, he ain't here, Pa, because he does not want you to be there.

SPEAKER_03:

He ain't going that day without a fight.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and you don't want that. Um, and we don't want to have to shoot you in the rubber rounds and and all that crap. But um hurt, yeah. Um, but once we had him in custody, Chad, you know, we we talked to him and tried to figure out what was going on. He's like, man, he goes, you know, just trying to make a dollar out here.

SPEAKER_03:

And he was straight up honest with us. Yeah, yeah, it's it's funny. A lot of times they'll they'll tell us everything.

SPEAKER_01:

Just trying to make a dollar out here, that's it. You know, ain't got no job, you know. I'm like, man, well, that's that sucks.

SPEAKER_03:

It's a lot, it's a very poverty stricken area. Yeah, you know, these folks out there, they're not not living on a lot.

SPEAKER_01:

No. Um and we took we took them to Robinson County Jail, which is out in the middle of nowhere, too. And uh booked them there, and bankers is off of the bond.

SPEAKER_03:

25 grand.

SPEAKER_01:

25 grand saved.

SPEAKER_03:

You're welcome.

SPEAKER_01:

Saved.

SPEAKER_03:

So you're welcome, bankers. No taxpayer money involved.

SPEAKER_01:

Seems like we should be getting some sponsorship money from bankers.

SPEAKER_03:

I thought we were bankers. What's up?

SPEAKER_01:

What's up? Okay. All right, well.

SPEAKER_03:

We're waiting. We're waiting by the mailbox. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_01:

Anyway, uh so yeah, so it it's now since we we saved 25 grand to the insurance company, we saved taxpayers all this money where we don't have to, you know, they don't have to pay for any of this. What do you think is going to happen now since we got Irena's law coming into effect December 1st?

SPEAKER_03:

I I don't know. Um I don't know how much it's gonna, I mean, I hope, you know, it's gonna make some some significant changes. What can I think it's it's good either way. Yeah, I think. But as far as for us, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

I talked to the magistrates yesterday at New Hanover. Yeah. And they were like, we want to know what's gonna go on too.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01:

They don't they don't know yet.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, I'm sure they get briefed on it uh closer to the table.

SPEAKER_01:

They will. I think it's a new something's gonna come out. I don't know what it is. And they were like, hey, we're not doing anything no different. This is the magistrates now here. Now I ain't talking about anywhere else in North Carolina.

SPEAKER_03:

Well yeah, depending on which one you talk to, but yeah, but anything I under my understanding, anything with a violent nature has to get a secured bond. Right. And we used to be that way, um but it got more skewed over the years as more liberal judges wanted to tell them to unsecure, unsecure.

SPEAKER_01:

Right. And now, and that's what's happening here, is judges are unsecuring a lot of these bonds. Right, right. And now it's not gonna be able to do that. And I'm it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.

SPEAKER_03:

I think they they have uh ability if there's a um circumstance that you know cost for, but they have to do it in writing to um justify, I believe, is something like that. I don't know exactly, but I believe it's something along those lines.

SPEAKER_01:

It's gonna be like I said, it's gonna be very interesting to see what happens and how it's gonna affect us in the bonding world. Right. They're going to get you, you know, go get you part of everything too, you know, because it's gonna affect everything. Because if there we got more bonds being written, guess what? There's gonna be more forfeitures out there, which be more stories to tell.

SPEAKER_03:

You guys, more stories. Um, but this is all, I mean, if we can't do our job and we gotta pay, that's more money in the North Carolina, at least our state. Now, I wish I could tell you where you're listening from or uh, you know, how it works in your area, but it's different from state to state. Right. I think North Carolina's doing it right. Um, it goes back to the kids.

SPEAKER_01:

Considering yet the North Carolina school system sucks.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, I mean, we're doing our part, right? We're keeping our end of the bargain, so to speak. Right. Um, so I think that's that's a good thing. Um, and that's cool. And um, I guess that's that's it on that one, right? Yeah, that's about it. We'll we'll see what's going on. Do you want to enjoy it? Well, do you want to do you want to mention what we uh have in the works?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh. Do you want to? I didn't know if you wanted to mention or not, so that's why I didn't say no.

SPEAKER_03:

So, okay. We'll mention it. Well, let's let's mention it and get the viewers' opinion. Listen. Their opinions on this. So we have a we have an opportunity uh through a uh uh a mutual friend that um is putting on an event here in Wilmington, North Carolina. Yes, or we're good friends with these guys and and we're thinking about we're considering putting together um an event to have them here to where you the the public could come and uh and meet them. Um Do you want to say who it is? Sure.

SPEAKER_01:

All right, it's it's it's dog and Leland.

SPEAKER_03:

Dog and Dog the Bounty Hunter and Leland Chapman and his son. Um we're we're thinking about putting on an event and um we're gonna make it a big event. Yep. And um wanna see if you guys were interested, if you'd like to do it. What we're thinking about doing is doing our podcast with him, with with him and his son, and having participation from a select few of people in the crowd to ask questions.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, so you have to be VIP for this, though. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

No, that's a V VIP um limited number seating, and you'll get to mingle with him and his son and ask questions and be on the podcast uh that will be um on all streaming platforms. Yes, so it's gonna be a part of his channel.

SPEAKER_01:

And it's gonna be on our YouTube channel too. So you'll get to see, you know.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, so if you guys like that, let us know. Um, share it with somebody. We're trying to get some input. We're leaning strong and possibly doing this, so it's gonna be more likely. We're looking to the spring of 2026 um to do this because we're coming up on winter, March, and nobody really wants to do all this in the winter, right? We want it in a semi-warm time at least.

SPEAKER_01:

March is semi, somewhat warm. Yeah, it can be a little chilly sometimes, but hey, it might be April.

SPEAKER_03:

We have no set date. We've literally just thought about firming this up um yesterday.

SPEAKER_01:

So if you're very interested in this, comment on YouTube, whatever. Uh, email us, call us, whatever. If you're interested, let us know because we are we're looking to try to do something uh very soon, trying to get this together. And um it's gonna be a good time because of hell. We might we're been we've been thinking about whether my band was gonna play. We're definitely gonna do the podcast. Uh there will be some maybe some food. I don't know. I we we're we're we're throwing it around ideas.

SPEAKER_03:

We have a big we have a possibility of a big venue.

SPEAKER_01:

Um The trick building where one tree hill does their thing. Yeah, yeah, point that's that building around there.

SPEAKER_03:

We're we're we're considering that building and we're gonna talk to those folks, and it'd be a big indoor event. Uh we might have vendors um and food trucks, possibly.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah. I mean, we're we're gonna have the whole shebang.

SPEAKER_03:

So it'll be a big event. So let us know.

SPEAKER_01:

Let us know and keep keep up with us because we're definitely once we decide we're gonna do it, we're gonna promote. The hell out of it. So there's gonna be a lot of people here. Right. I I have a feeling it'd be 200 people.

SPEAKER_03:

Limited seating on the VIP experience.
