Off The Hook

From a Southport Shooting to finding Felicia hiding in a bedroom

Chad and Rob Episode 1021

Send us a text

A door cracked open, a quiet voice, and a choice to slow down—that’s where today’s conversation becomes a story worth keeping. We start light with jokes, shirts, and a quick nod to the Off The Hook Gear shop, then pivot hard into local headlines: a Southport shooting, a community grieving, and a frank talk about veteran mental health and the first responders who carry secondhand trauma for years. It’s messy, unfiltered, and grounded in the places we actually live.

From there, we follow the thread into a Lumbee family compound in Dillon, South Carolina. A cold file warms into a real moment: grandma’s wary welcome, history with tarnished badges, and the distance between an outsider’s badge and earned trust. We explain who we are, not who people fear we might be. Then comes the door, the line—“We’ve been talking about you”—and the decision to lead with respect. No cuffs, no theatrics. We listen in the car as a young woman talks through detox, abuse, and the kind of fear that keeps you small. Getting her to the county wasn’t a victory lap; it was a boundary that might save her life.

Between those beats, we carry hometown texture: music that formed us, UK listeners checking in, and a few human details—family health scares, Mayberry nostalgia, and a pork chop sandwich that tastes like growing up. It’s the blend we live in: policy and people, headlines and front porches, warrants and empathy. If you care about community safety, veteran support, and the difference tone makes when the stakes are real, you’ll find something true here.

If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs to hear it, and leave a quick review—your words help more people find stories that put respect first.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh hey, what's happening there? I forgot. Take us off me.

SPEAKER_02:

What's going on, Chad here? Rob here. Twitching, twitching it up a little bit. What's up? Uh hey man, you like my shirt? Uh I do, man. That that's a very uh trending shirt right now for good reason.

SPEAKER_01:

Man, I'm kind of worried like I it's it's almost worries and with everything going on in the world right now, especially here locally. Wearing this out, like, do I have a target on my back right now?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I don't know, man. That's sorry, piece of crap if you would would mess with somebody.

SPEAKER_01:

But I see you got the Smiths on.

SPEAKER_02:

Hey, representing Morrissey the Smiths.

SPEAKER_01:

But old school. There's one thing we both have on that you can go get right now.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Off the hook gear, baby.

SPEAKER_02:

Off the hook gear.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm telling you. My closet is that's all it is, man.

SPEAKER_02:

Wait till you see the new shirt. I've got turning out.

SPEAKER_01:

Dude, I'm so ready. Like uh I bet you that's gonna be your top selling.

SPEAKER_02:

I think it's going to be. Yes, I think it's gonna be. And when I get it, I'll bring it in and show you guys.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, it's gonna be so good. Yeah, you're either gonna love it or you're gonna hate it.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, there's not a lot, there's not a lot of in between, but I think it's freaking clever. I've had a lot of response before I had this movie.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, when you when you brought that, all right, so you brought this design to to me and said, Hey, what you think about this? And I was like, dude, you gotta do it. You were hesitant about it at first. I was like, dude, no.

SPEAKER_02:

And then then our uh our Australian guy, uh, a few doors down, um Adrian. Hey Adrian, what's up? If you're listening, um, he's like, mate, you gotta do it. Yeah, mate. Yeah, mate, you gotta do it.

unknown:

You gotta do it.

SPEAKER_02:

I was like, all right, cool. I'm gonna do it. So you guys will get a chance to see it once we get it.

SPEAKER_01:

It's finally getting it's humorous.

SPEAKER_02:

It's humorous.

SPEAKER_01:

So anyway. But it's pretty, it's cool too because it's double meeting. So right, right. But you need to tell everybody where you can go get this stuff at off the hook um gear.

SPEAKER_02:

Off the hookgear.shop. I had a brain freeze for a second. Off the hookgear.shop.

SPEAKER_01:

Hey, you know what? Let me try to bring this up, and I can show everybody online so you keep talking.

SPEAKER_02:

So um we've had a lot in North Carolina. For some reason, our little part of the world keeps popping up in the news nationally. So over the weekend we had a mass shooting of um the guy in Southport, which Southport is right down the road from us. I mean, literally it's 15 minutes from us.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

And uh guy pulled up, I can I think on a boat, and he was an ex-marine. He started shooting people who were just out enjoying a band outside by the waterside at night. He shot and killed three people, he wounded eight total. And um the Coast Guard was able to uh find him as he was trying to get his boat out of the water. And uh I went to his Facebook page and started looking, you know, what what was going on with this dude. You know, mental health is a serious problem around here these days. And this dude's post definitely screamed mental health problems. Yeah. Somebody, somebody should have intervened a long time ago.

SPEAKER_01:

Here are you so here here's my question, Chad. Yeah, and I think you would I think you would agree with me on this, and I and most of everybody out here would agree. Instead of taking care of all these illegal immigrants that's come over here and fucking Yeah, we got our own problems going on over here.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, let's take care of our own. I mean, this guy was a military veteran who had severe PTSD, not not condoning anything he did. No, absolutely not. He was that was stupid. But he should have gotten now. Here's another thing. Have you heard a lot of people actually um you know, from from Vietnam or from World War II, have you heard of any people ever going out and like just shooting people up? Like, do they have PTSD back then? Or is it from the from the medicine that people are getting today for the current places people going, you know, and fighting? You know, it just it doesn't seem like you heard about this type of stuff uh until recently, the past few years.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I I'm not sure, man. I mean, I think we need to take care of our veterans. More like mental health, I mean, mental health for veterans is huge because I mean, look what they have to go look at and see and right.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I mean, the same goes for you know, paramedics that work in the ER.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

You know, think about the stuff they see. They see they saw the people that got shot that night.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, you know. I've wor I've worked on EMS for for five years. It was yeah, like it some of the stuff I've seen was just horrible. And then with the fire department, you know.

SPEAKER_02:

It's got to mess with you, you know. It's hard to turn that off and go back to normal life.

SPEAKER_01:

I had a um, I had a child, uh, six-year-old child that uh died in my arms in Castle Hane, got hit by a tow truck. That took a toll on me. I bet. And that was the last, I think that was the last call before I quit. And I mean, it took a toll on me. I had, you know, I I went and got some help, you know. It's nothing to be ashamed of. But that's just here locally. You so you're talking about you're sending some like this guy here, he's been across seas, yeah, been shot at in Afghanistan, you know, or or wherever he was at over there.

SPEAKER_02:

Right, but yeah, uh, um but also people that have been other war, like they I'm sure they were up close. Yeah. Nowadays, I mean, you it's it's changed from then. I would think it's more up close and personal years ago. Yeah. You know. Um I mean, I don't know. It's just an observation.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm saying instead of taking all of our tax money and dumping it into illegal immigrants that to give them everything they need to survive, which that I'm sorry, we need to take care of our own, which is uh the mental health issue with our veterans.

SPEAKER_02:

I think VA VAs need to, I mean, yeah, they need to increase the the what support people are getting at or not getting of VAs. I though we got one friend in particular that's a bondsman that I always see his posts about, you know, I mean, you know, uh he's not getting the treatment uh to VA hospital that he needs. Um Mike, if you're listening, um I see your post. But yeah, the you know, those guys aren't getting really great treatment.

SPEAKER_01:

No.

SPEAKER_02:

So I think it could be increased, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I think we need to quit worrying about you know certain things. Hell have you seen uh on other news? Have you seen where Trump has sent uh Portland? Portland? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, all right, you you you liberals that are crying about Portland or whatever, aren't you the same ones you had Chaz, the little city during uh COVID that was that Seattle? Well, I mean it's next state up. I thought it was over there. I thought it was Portland. Maybe it was Seattle. I don't know. I'm not sure. Look that up if you can, man. Both of them cities, let's see. I can't remember which one it was, but it's somewhere real close in proximity of the country where they had that little country and within the city. Yeah, I don't know. Didn't work out too good.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, Oregon, they had they legalized the use of heroin.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean Oh, yeah. People were getting messed up and they were trying to get the police to come out there and help them, and they're like, nah, nah, nah, you can you started this, you can you can for yourself.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's just in the city, it's not like the the of the whole state.

SPEAKER_02:

And anyway, I've I've seen on TikTok, I've seen some posts of people like, you know, they're showing um the military going in there, and they're like, We're so glad these people are here. Like this this lady's afraid to go into her uh apartment complex because these people standing outside of it, you know, she they're scared. So I I would oh yeah. Um, so I would tell you, but now our internet's not working out. So uh we've had that guy. Um, we had the girl on the bus we talked about. Yep, I mean, yeah, that that that new law. We're hoping that the governor is gonna do the right thing and sign it. It's made its way all the way to his desk. Yep, but has it been done yet? No, it has not been done yet, and I don't know exactly why you need to review it all, because I mean you should review, but it shouldn't take this long. That's I looked at it, it's pretty reasonable. Um, that needs to needs to go into law, you know. Um, and we had another, like we're also we were in the news about this. You see the uh the guy that stowed away in the airplane.

SPEAKER_01:

It was I did not, you told me about it this morning.

SPEAKER_02:

It was an international flight that landed in Charlotte, North Carolina. Where'd it come from? Do you know? I don't know where, but dude got into I guess the luggage department and flew in in that and he was found dead in the landing gear. Oh, yeah, they was a body found inside that they haven't identified it. Um, but that was that was kind of crazy too. Wow. Man, imagine that that just works in movies, guys.

SPEAKER_01:

Don't try to realize yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm sure there's a lot of pressure you know in inside of that cabin that you probably don't want to be a part of.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh man, what I tell you what, man, our world's gone to a hell in a handbasket. So that's more of a reason to live like Charlie Kirk. Right? Right? I love I like my shirt.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

It's a nice shirt.

SPEAKER_02:

I like it. It's very nice.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, there's there's a couple of this was a TikTok impulse by like I wondered.

SPEAKER_02:

You had it pretty quick after all that, too. You got on it really quick.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, it was like 20 bucks, you know, and funds went to you know to help out.

SPEAKER_02:

Hey, I get it, man. That's a good job.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, TP USA uh t TP USA um has done, I guess has they have been like swamped with wanting to open chapters, but the colleges and high schools and like over 160,000.

SPEAKER_02:

I heard they doubled, you know, very quickly after his his passing. Yeah, I it's kind of it's kind of it's nice to see. Hey, he named it really well. I mean, turning point. I mean, that's exactly what this is is a turning point for a lot of people.

SPEAKER_01:

I hate to see him go. I mean, yeah, he was man, it's such a great debater and philosopher. Like he's he'll be known for a long, long, long time. Yep. I hate I hate seeing that.

SPEAKER_02:

Wife's pretty sharp lady, she's taken over.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah. I'm glad to see that. I hope they don't come after her. And I like I'm getting like I'm getting really sick and tired of seeing like so.

SPEAKER_02:

That's another thing that's in the news. That I I was just listening to this one guy on TikTok. He he's got he's up on the um current events. And uh so they're going after George Soros' uh foundation. Thank God. I can't remember what it's called. That dude, I swear to God, every time I see him, he looks like uh he looks like the evil guy in Star Wars. Yeah, the Emperor. The Emperor, yeah. He looks like he really is, yeah, man. I think he is. Um but yeah, they're going after him for putting funds into all these organizations that fund like Antifa and all these riots.

SPEAKER_01:

And so if he's been banned from other countries, why in the hell we ain't done it?

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know how all that works, to be honest with you. Uh it's it's a good question. How is he able to do this? But go after the foundations, follow the money, you know, do what you can. I hope Trump, whoever, the uh FBI, whoever can do something to this guy.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, they got Comey, they indicted him.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, that's all.

SPEAKER_01:

It's all coming to light, bro.

SPEAKER_02:

I saw so many posts of people. You remember when he did the remember when Trump got in trouble and he like saw the uh the uh shells that formed the uh the the what was it? It was 45 in the sand and and it was made out of shells. It was going on like a year ago, a little over a year ago. Okay, and it was it was Comey who posted that. I don't remember, and it was something about getting Trump out of office. It was it was a little meme, and he claims that the shells formed that formation, right? Which is BS. Um it's funny how um Karma works now. Exactly, and I've seen so many of these shell formations that show um something about him getting indicted and everything. It's like look at this, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I don't know, like it's almost like that it's so much going on, what to believe, what not to, you know, it's yeah, it's mind-boggling. I'm hell, I'm just ready for a vacation.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I'm glad to see that it's uh, you know, stuff's getting done, man. It's it's time. Tides are tides are turning. You ain't lying. I like it. I like it.

SPEAKER_01:

But yeah, it's it's funny. You know, all the reason why there is no mental facilities and there's no people in them because they're all Democrats.

SPEAKER_02:

And that's another thing that's changing too. Uh he's implementing those. Yes. I mean, this guy the Democrat Party's going straight to the minimal institutions. Do we see them every day outside of our office? I mean, people that have mental, I mean, they're just turned away and set loose, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

It's not they walk by the office and hey, hey, hey.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm sorry, but I mean, chopping off your packer and putting a dress on and having a beard is not natural. It's not mentally, you're not right. And we've been we've been just allowing it for the past four years. We're changing that, folks. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

You know what?

SPEAKER_02:

Um It's not normalized. You know, you you're reading, you know, you're in full drag and you're reading to kids. It's not normal. I don't want that. Just leave the kids alone, man. Why don't y'all go to a rest home and read to some old people? You know, never see them do that.

SPEAKER_01:

Because they're vote, they don't know if they're gonna be around next year to vote.

SPEAKER_02:

Indoctrination. That's the only thing it can be. Yeah, I know. Uh anyway, we'll jump off of that one. And yeah, it's time to get into story time.

SPEAKER_01:

Don't meet you with the symmetry guy.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay, Keats and Yates, they're writers, right? You know that?

SPEAKER_01:

I did not know. I I don't I don't know much about the Smiths.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah. You should, you should like, you know, it's it's funny. My son slowly. Like when we when we watched the Pantera concert, we were leaving. And so I got to meet Phil uh Ancinello, and he was he he remarked on I wore this shirt, uh, the Smiths. So when he when I met him, I knew that he would compliment and say something, you know, because he's a big fan. Right. And uh Pantera's big song, Cemetery Gates. You know, you've heard that one, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, the song you just played is where he got it from. Right. You know, that's that's where he got it. Yeah, I'll have to do some looking up different words, but he liked the the names and I'll have to do some looking up on that.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh yeah. Uh meanwhile, Kenny's coming out with a new uh uh book. He's gonna his only book he's ever come out with is uh Kenny Chesney. Oh he's coming out with his uh biography coming out, it comes out in November, right on my birthday. So I can't wait to read that. So I'll have to look up on the some Smiths by while I'm waiting on that to come out.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, man. It's uh it's not, I mean, you know, everybody it this was a it was a college thing for me. I liked, and um, you know, certain things stick with you in certain periods of time in your life.

SPEAKER_01:

You know, you go back to, you know, no matter where like you you've got, I'm sure you have like the Smiths and George Michaels and and and the Prince. Like I remember like some a lot of that.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, yeah, yeah. My dad's a big prince fan. I like Prince Michael.

SPEAKER_01:

It's so funny because I'm only like 10 years younger than you are, but me, I grew up on a farm, so I I was always listening to country. So Kenny Chesney, when they came out, I was like 15 at a time, and man, that he's been my man ever since. Yeah, and I just grew up.

SPEAKER_02:

Certain things you hear that just brings you back, you know.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. So I I'm I have to look into it. That'd be awesome. All right, so the story today, fellas and ladies, is a god, this is a banker's uh banker's insurance.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh, this is the girl in Dillon, South Carolina. All right, so we're gonna name her. Oh you keep going, I'll think of one.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. So Dillon, South Carolina. I get this, uh, we get a forfeiture. Uh it's not ours, but we were contracted out by the insurance company because we did a lot for bankers back. You know, we still do. But back then we were doing a lot of cleanup too. So this this young girl here in South Carolina, I get the forfeiture from Felicia. Felicia. That wasn't and it's a 10,000, so we're trying to figure it out. It was written out of um Robinson County.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, those of you who are listening, Robinson County get shot. Is our it's a it's a pretty rough area. It is mostly um Indian folks, lumbee, like Lumbies.

SPEAKER_01:

Lumby Indians, and and the the Lumbies have been federally recognized by President Trump. Right, right. Yep. So they like him.

SPEAKER_02:

They like him for reason.

SPEAKER_01:

But you get stabbed there real quick, though.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah, it's kind of a rough area. Yeah, it is rough, but they they they keep their community really tight. A lot of Loch Lears, Oxen Dynes, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh Halls, it's it's it's bad. There's only like four or five names of same last names there for the whole community.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I know it's weird.

SPEAKER_02:

Like, that's my cuz. Yeah, okay. But that's their culture.

SPEAKER_01:

So um all right, so we get we get this file and I'm looking at it. And I don't I try not to bother Chad on sometimes on things because he was busy doing some stuff. So I do a lot of you know looking into this, and finally she's got a boyfriend, but boyfriend's locked up. Once the boyfriend was locked up, like it went cold. I couldn't figure it out. So, of course, I'm like, hey, yo, Chad, uh, this is what I got. I it's gone cold, I don't know what to do. I've run some information, I've got one address. And it's not the one on the forfeiture, of course. No, never isn't it and it's in South Carolina. And South Carolina, if you don't know, like where Robinson County, it borders the uh North Carolina and South Carolina, so it's easy to go right over into South Carolina. So we make a decision hey, let's just ride out there and see what's going on. Because we have to, we have to give a report back to bankers. Right. And so we take off out there, and of course, the whole time on the way out there, Chad's looking to see if he's if I miss something, you know, he's he's looking, can't find nothing. We get out to this property, it's in Dillon, South Carolina. Okay, it's right over the border. And we come up, and there's like it looks like a family compound. Like there's a trailer here, a double wide here, like a little shed in between, shed out back.

SPEAKER_02:

So, you know, it's it's uh it's like we said, tightly knit communities. Yeah, so that's kind of what was going on here. It was grandma and mom and daughter, and probably somebody else. There's like how many houses, like four together?

SPEAKER_01:

I think something something like that.

SPEAKER_02:

Little houses like kind of bunched together on the same piece of property.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, Chad, I you know, of course, me and Chad are talking the whole time, going like, all right, what do we do? What do we do? So we would said that we're gonna sit back and watch for a little bit. Because that's always a good thing to try to do. Sit back and watch, see if you see movement, you see anything going on. We didn't see jack shit. Nothing. So I was like, hey, well, this is the only thing we got. We've looked at every avenue. There's no way we're gonna have to go up to the house. Chad was like, all right, cool. So you know, we both agree on it. We go up to this little trailer, the first trailer, and nothing. It sounded like somebody was in there, but it was nothing. So, of course, Chad's over there. I'm at the front door. Chad's walking around the yard. He's trying to he's looking at other things too.

SPEAKER_02:

And always be aware. You don't know who's watching you in those four houses, you know. You don't you don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

And Chad goes, hey, let's go over to this little double wide right right next door to because the front door's open. Okay, cool. So we go bee bopping right over there to double wide, go knock on a door, and this old lady answers it, answers the door. Mm-hmm. And really nice lady, she invites us in.

SPEAKER_02:

Cool, we're in.

SPEAKER_01:

And once we're in the house, okay, cool. You know, we got vest on because we don't know. It's it's it's Lumberton area.

SPEAKER_02:

We're out in the sticks. Yeah, I mean, we're like you cry, I mean, scream, nobody's gonna hear you, right?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, so we get talking to grandma, and grandma's a little hesitant at first to talk to us because she's scared of the cops. They don't uh if you don't know about this, like the Lumbee people down in Lumberton, they don't like cops.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, yeah, that whole operation uh tarnished badge that happened years ago involved some uh crooked cops and dirty cops, yeah, and so they've had bad dealings with them, so that's that's kind of got through the community and they don't do it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, so that's why it makes it harder to to do your so we we explained to grandma that we're not the cops. We we do not we're not even it don't even look like it because we have on our vests that says bail enforcement agent. We have badges that says North Carolina Bell agent, you know. So we we're not we're not imposing that we're cops, right? And she finally understands, and I'm like, all right, look, where's your granddaughter?

SPEAKER_02:

Do we say what all she was involved with yep? Yeah, we told her that she was an absconder. Well, I mean, but there was other stuff involved with what was going on.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, it was like there was drugs and stuff like that going on, and we didn't know what she we knew she had a boyfriend. The boyfriend was locked up, so we're like, hey, have you seen her? And she wouldn't say at first, she wouldn't say that she had seen her, she didn't say that she had, you know, she had been around or anything. But after a minute, and she got more relaxed with she goes, I know where she's at. And of course, me and Chad are kind of like just kind of waiting for it, like we really want to know where she's at. And and she's like, Well, I I'm afraid to tell you because I'm afraid that that you're gonna you're you're not gonna do it. Well, you say you're gonna do it.

SPEAKER_02:

At this point, you're talking to her, and I'm kind of like floating around the room. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Starting starting like Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm keep I'm keeping I'm saying, hey grandma, look over here, look over here. Shiny object over here. Yeah, look over here.

SPEAKER_02:

Chad's over here creeping, you know. I'm gonna I'm gonna look look and see what's going on in this room when you've got the door closed.

SPEAKER_01:

And while me and me and grandma are talking, Chad goes up to this door, pops his door open, and looks in there and goes, What do you say?

SPEAKER_02:

We've been talking about you.

SPEAKER_01:

And she goes, I know. And Chad just kind of looks out at me and says, Hey, she's right here. I'm like, okay. So we didn't usually, you know, bondsmen, a lot of bondsmen would jump up and just go put her in handcuffs like that. But we didn't because you know, grandma was scared of us.

SPEAKER_02:

Well we look, I look yeah, we looked through the I mean, we had time to look and and surveil the area. You always worry about somebody coming out of nowhere in like you don't know, somebody in another room with a gun, pop out and you know. Right. We'd we'd we'd looked everything over pretty good, you know. So we didn't have any fears of anybody popping out.

SPEAKER_01:

So and grandma was really cool after she after she came out and she noticed that we won't like trying to like jump on her, put her in handcuffs behind her back, you know, shut up, blah, blah, blah. You know, we didn't do that because they were they were cool. So we let her we let her get dressed. Right. And excuse me. And grandma was like, All right, cool. Well, will you call us? I'm like, yes, I'll call you sooner.

SPEAKER_02:

That girl had been abused too by like her boyfriend.

SPEAKER_01:

And that's why the grandma was so worried about it, because she was worried about you know, we were gonna do something to her.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, we were just, you know, just trying to do her job with the warrant and everything. And the girl, you know, cried, I think, in a car and was telling us what was going on with with her boyfriend.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and I I got teared up. Like it was.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I mean, it was it was a bad situation. Yeah, you know, um, this was the first step to get that off of her, was to get the warrant service.

SPEAKER_01:

And she was hiding because she detoxed at grandma's house. Yeah, that's right. And she was hiding because she was scared that her boyfriend that's locked up at the time was going to send somebody after her because he was pimping around. He was had her on drugs, he was using her to using her.

SPEAKER_02:

So, really getting her out of that that situation altogether was nobody likes to go to jail, but what was going on with her there in that area, like we might have gotten done her a favor to get her out of there.

SPEAKER_01:

But here's one thing that we did we never, never, never, never, never do.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, we always handcuffed, but I don't think we did for her.

SPEAKER_01:

We we felt so bad for her. Like we had to take her. There wasn't there's just one of questions about it. Yeah. So we didn't put her in no handcuffs, but she she went, uh we fed her.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh yeah, we yeah, we always fed her like we always tell people, you know, we're looking, we'll treat you as good as you know you treat us.

SPEAKER_01:

We're we're you're dealing with human beings, all right? So you're not dealing with we're not mean.

SPEAKER_02:

No. Now we now we can be, but we're not initially.

SPEAKER_01:

Just like we tell everybody that we get, we treat you as just as much as respect as you treat us. And usually that works out pretty good. Um, except for that guy in California.

SPEAKER_02:

But there's been a few that that don't want to listen. So, you know, whatever.

SPEAKER_01:

But so we put her back in Robinson County jail. Uh bankers is off the off the bond.

SPEAKER_02:

Um we're still waiting on that endorsement, by the way. Yeah, I know, right?

SPEAKER_01:

What the hell?

SPEAKER_02:

SPEAKER_01:

SPEAKER_02:

SPEAKER_01:

And if I could if I could ever look like find it, I'd look it up and see, because it's been years ago since we did that. Yeah, that was that was ways back. Well, uh, all right.
